Chai Lights: Food sort

Congregation Beth Israel’s Social Action Committee held its seventh annual Thanksgiving Food Sort at the Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee in November. Some 35 members of Congregation Beth Israel and its seventh grade religious school class sorted through more than eight tons of potatoes. These potatoes were put into over 800 family size bags that were part of a Thanksgiving meal kit. The meal kits included turkeys, potatoes, pumpkin pies, along with many other items.
