Goldman-Rifkin

Jodi Goldman and Jordan Rifkin of Chicago were married May 29 in Milwaukee. Rabbi Ronald Shapiro and Cantor Karen Berman officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Penny and Barry Goldman of Bayside. Jodi graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2006 and from the John Marshall Law School in 2009. She works for Mordini and Schwartz.

The groom’s parents are Jeri and Steven Rifkin of Highland Park, Ill. Jordan graduated from Indiana University in 2004 and the John Marshall Law School in 2009. He is employed by Nielson, Zehe & Antas.

The maid of honor was Leslie Pinto of Aliso Viejo, Calif. Bridesmaids were Laurel Klee of Highland Park, Nicole Oyer of Chicago, Hether Rosenblatt of Highland Park, and Danica Werhand of Chicago. Flower girls were Annabelle and Summer Klee, and Tatum and Avery Rosenblatt of Highland Park.

The best men were Brent Eisenberg and Brett Elisco of Chicago. Groomsmen were Evan Klee of Highland Park, Adam Pinto of Aliso Viejo, and Bradley Rosenblatt of Highland Park. The ring bearer was Wyatt Rosenblatt of Highland Park.

 
Schopler-Resnikoff

Lisa Anne Schopler and Brad Anthony Resnikoff of Washington, D.C., were married Sept. 4. Rabbi Lynne Kern officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Robin and Dr. Steven Schopler of Bakersfield, Calif. Lisa graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and the American University Washington College of Law. She works as an attorney. She is the granddaughter of Phyllis and Sidney Ellis of Mequon and Inge and Harry Schopler of Glendale.

The groom’s parents are AnnaMarie and Richard Resnikoff of Staten Island, N.Y. Brad also graduated from the American University Washington College of Law and works for Mayer Brown, LLP.

The maid of honor was Ellen Renee Schopler of Chicago. The best man was Steven Popel of Staten Island.

 
Sobel-Gore

Alexandra (Lexy) J. Sobel and Michael R. Gore of Evanston, Ill., were married in Milwaukee on Sept. 4. Rabbi Steve Adams officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Diane and Gary Sobel of Milwaukee. Lexy graduated from the University of Iowa and works for WorldChicago.

The groom’s parents are Leah and Andrew Gore of San Diego. Michael graduated from the University of Kansas and is a graduate student at DePaul University’s College of Computing and Digital Media.

Chuppah holders were Karee Bilsky of Deerfield, Ill., Ashley Buckholtz of Cambridge, Mass., Lori Friedman of Maple Grove, Minn., and Robin Gilson of Evanston. Sheva Brachot sayers were Deanna Gore of San Diego and Jessica Gore of Dallas, Texas.

The best man was David Radom of Chicago. Groomsman was Brian Sher of Hanover Park, Ill. Ushers were Rachel Meltzer of Deerfield and Michael Felber of Verona.

The flower girl was Shayna Bilsky of Deerfield. The ring bearer was Gabriel Gore of Dallas.

 
Teshena-Porter

Raya (Rachel) Teshena, M.D., of Kiev, Ukraine, and former Milwaukeean Jack Nusan Porter, Ph.D., of Newtonville, Mass., were married Nov. 18 in a civil ceremony at the city hall of Newton, Mass.

Rachel is the daughter of Katarina and the late Vasilii Teshen of Kiev. She is a former physician.

Jack’s parents were the late Faye and the late Irving Porter, former partisans during World War II who moved to Milwaukee after the war. Jack is a sociologist, author, and human rights activist, former treasurer of the International Association of Genocide Scholars, and director of the Spencer School of Real Estate.
