Chai Lights: Pantry opening celebrated

The Jewish Community Pantry held a ceremonial opening on Sept. 22 at its new location, 2930 W. Center St., in Milwaukee. The pantry is part of the Emergency Pantry Network of the Milwaukee Hunger Task Force, and is co-sponsored by the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center and the Women’s Division of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. Attendees at the event included (from left) Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett; Dorene Paley, pantry director and JCC community services director; JCC Vice Chair Greg Dorf; and JCC Executive Director Mark Shapiro.
