JFS Housing, Inc., has hired Tobey Libber as executive director. Libber has more than 25 years of experience working in the Milwaukee community.
Prior to JFSHI, he was the Helen Bader Foundation’s program officer for Jewish Life and Learning where he managed the annual grant budget and was responsible for grant evaluation, technical assistance, and coalition building.
Libber also worked at the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, most recently as director of planning and community services, where he administered the annual allocation process locally and internationally. Previously, he had worked for 18 years at the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization.
In response to the need for affordable housing for seniors and individuals with exceptional needs, JFS created JFS Housing in 2008. The organization’s first project, Deerwood Crossing, opened in Brown Deer in June 2010 and achieved 90 percent occupancy in three months.
