The chaplaincy program of Jewish Family Service of New Mexico was honored at the New Mexico Humanitarian Awards dinner Aug. 18.
One of the three honorees working in that program is former Milwaukeean Chaplain Linda Friedman, now of Albuquerque. She also is currently the vice president of the Jewish Federation of New Mexico. %u2028She became a chaplain in April 2008. She also is a member of the Chevra Kaddisha, the Jewish Burial Society.
JFS gave Friedman its Volunteer of the Year Award in 2009. Recently she received the MOVE (Mayors Outstanding Volunteer Award) from the city of Albuquerque for her JFS work.
