Racine native Rose Bogost, nee Freeman, died in Milwaukee on June 1. She was 100.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1929. She was primarily a homemaker whose primary interests were cooking, sewing, knitting, and her family. She also taught English to Jewish immigrants and helped her husband in his income tax preparation business.
She was also a member of Hadassah and volunteered to call seniors regularly to check on them, according to her family.
Her husband, Ben Bogost, died in 1987. She is survived by sons Keith E. Bogost, M.D., of Oceanside, Calif., and David M. Bogost, Ph.D., of Albuquerque, N.M.; sisters Tina Schwartz of San Francisco, Genevieve Sverdlin of Milwaukee, and Shirlee Pershitz of Burbank, Calif.; ten grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Blaine Goodman Funeral Service handled arrangements. Rabbi Steve Adams officiated at the funeral on June 5. Burial was in Second Home Cemetery.
