Forty-eight bar/bat mitzvah-age children of fallen Israel Defense Force soldiers will spend 12 days at JCC Camp Chi in Lake Delton, Wis., in July, through the efforts of Friends of the IDF LEGACY program, spearheaded by the FIDF Women’s Brigade.
The FIDF LEGACY mission was designed to bring these teenagers together into a community of support, where they can reflect on their experiences and escape the daily reminders of war and loss.
FIDF initiates and helps support social, educational, cultural and recreational programs and facilities for Israeli soldiers of Israel, and helps support for the families of fallen soldiers. Its Central Region chapter is based in Chicago.
JCC Camp Chi is the overnight camp of JCC Chicago.
