Memoir-writing class offered at Chudnow

Marilyn Lane, president of the Wisconsin Jewish Genealogical Society, will present a five-week course on writing your memoirs at the Sarah Chudnow Campus in Mequon.

The program will begin on Thursday, June 16, 2 p.m., and continue on Tuesdays, June 21, 28, July 5, 12, and 19, 1:30 to 4 p.m. The course is free; all materials will be provided.

According to Womensmemoirs.com, “Today more than 200 studies have confirmed that engaging in expressive writing (writing that specifically explores the writer’s personal feelings, opinions, and beliefs) correlates strongly with enhanced immune and cardiovascular function, lower blood pressure, fewer doctor visits, along with reduced symptoms of stress-related illnesses and many chronic disorders. These physical benefits are in addition to emotional health benefits already recognized.”

These workshops will give participants a head start on a healthy project that can also bring lifelong satisfaction and hand down family stories to generations to come.

Participation is limited to ten students. Call Larry Ladin at 262-478-1506 for more information and to reserve a seat.
