The Hillel buildings on the campuses of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-Madison have both recently won architectural design awards.
The Joseph and Vera Zilber Hillel Student Center at UW-Milwaukee won a Merit Award from the American Institute of Architects-Wisconsin that was presented in Madison on May 4. The building was designed by La Dallman Architects Inc., Milwaukee.
The Barbara Hochberg Center for Jewish Student Life, headquarters of UW Hillel in Madison, was named Project of the Decade by the magazine In Business: Madison in its May 2011 issue. The building’s architects and engineers were Engberg Anderson/Affiliated Engineers, Pierce Engineers, and Burse Survey & Engineering.
