Deborah Dorothy Feingold

Deborah Dorothy Feingold (nee Stein), a native of Johnstown, Pa., died of lung cancer April 28 in Mequon. She was 83.

Her family moved to Kansas City, Mo. After graduating high school, she became the secretary to the English department Chairman at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

She was a founding member of Johnson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a program that recruits and trains volunteers to speak out for abused and neglected children in court proceedings.

She was married for 23 years to her first husband, Albert Saver, until his death in 1971. They had two children. In 1975, she married Harry Feingold, who preceded her in death in 2006.

She is survived by children Harvey (Gail Siegel) Saver and Kerry Saver; step-children Janice (Herbert Wolman) Feingold and Pam (Joe Brooks) Feingold; and seven grandchildren.

There will be a future life celebration in Shawnee Mission, Mo. Memorial contributions can be sent to local CASA offices or a non-profit of choice.
