Chai Lights: Viewing the model

Architect Phillip Katz (right) showed to Steve Marcus the model for the “Corner of Hope” (“Pinat Hatikvah” in Hebrew) Holocaust monument that he designed and that will be constructed at the Karl Jewish Community Campus. The model was being displayed at “From Broadway to Milwaukee… An Evening with ‘Irena’s Vow’” on May 18 at the Pfister Hotel. Some 350 people attended the event, which also honored William Appel and featured scenes from the 2009 Broadway play “Irena’s Vow.” The event was hosted by the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center, a program of the Coalition for Jewish Learning, the education program of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation.
