Chai Lights: Madison’s first labor seder

The Jewish Labor Committee organizes Passover “labor seders” every year in cities around the country. This year, JLC member Chad Alan Goldberg (shown above, standing at left) and Interfaith Coalition for Worker Justice board member Jonathan Rosenblum organized the first Madison labor seder, held on April 25. Organizations represented included local synagogues; the Jewish Federation of Madison; and local unions. UW Hillel director Greg Steinberger arranged kosher catering and offered space for the event at the UW Hillel Foundation building. The event was made possible by the Jewish Labor Committee, the American Federation of Teachers-Wisconsin, and individual donors. Photo provided by Chad Alan Goldberg.
