A son, Alexander Solomon (Hebrew name Shlomo), was born Dec. 9 to Rebecca (Altshull) and Kevin Magana of Glendale. He is their first child.
The maternal grandparents are Helene and Stanley Altshull of Glendale. Elsie Magana of Pawcatuck, Conn.; and Michael (Peg) Magana of Pawcatuck are the paternal grandparents.
The baby is named in memory of his maternal great-grandmother, Sylvia Duchon.
