Madison federation surpasses record goal

The Jewish Federation of Madison announced on page one of the February Madison Jewish News that its 2010 Tzedakah Campaign achieved a record-breaking $1.01 million. This exceeded the $1 million goal set this past fall, itself the largest goal the community has ever set.

According to the MJN article, some 1,400 people donated and more than 100 volunteers worked on the campaign. The campaign supports 20 Madison Jewish organizations and programs, as well as contributing to efforts in Israel and around the world.

Jim Stein served as campaign chair and has been appointed to continue in that role for the 2011 campaign. Kathy Blumenfeld is JFM’s president, and Jill Hagler is its executive director. The JFM Web site is www.JewishMadison.org.
