Israeli filmmaker to speak at UWM

Israeli filmmaker Yoram Honig will screen and discuss his 2006 film “First Lesson in Peace” on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 7 p.m., at the Golda Meir Library Conference Center at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The film tells the story of the Jewish-Arab conflict through the eyes of a six-year-old girl entering first grade at the mixed Arab-Jewish primary school Neve Shalom (“Oasis of Peace”).

The event is sponsored by UWM’s Sam & Helen Stahl Center for Jewish Studies, in cooperation with the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. It is free of charge, and the public is invited.
