Amy S. Doppelt

Milwaukee native Amy S. Doppelt of San Francisco died Dec. 2 of cancer. She was 52.

She graduated from Nicolet High School in 1977 and from Smith College in 1981. She worked as a municipal bond analyst for Fitch IBCA in San Francisco since 1989.

She was a member of the All-Star Municipal Analysts Team of Smith’s Research and Gradings; and recently completed two terms at an adviser to the Government Finance Officers Association’s Standing Committee on Economic Development and Capital Planning.

She was a member of the California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission’s Techical Advisory Committee for 14 years. She was a member of the California Society of Municipal Analysts and of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.

She is survived by husband Stephen J. Scheier; step-children Lauren and Haley Scheier; and brother Andrew (Melanie) Doppelt of Northbrook, Ill.

Funeral services on Dec. 6 and burial were in San Francisco. A memorial tribute was also held Dec. 13 in New York City.

The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Trustees of Smith College, Women’s Initiative for Self Employment, University of California, San Francisco for research on cholangiocarcinoma and other gastrointestinal cancers; to the Sussman Family Fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; or to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Endowment Fund.
