The Cathedral Center will present its Woman of the Word Award to Judy Baruch, executive director of Tikkun Ha-Ir of Milwaukee, at the organization’s fifth annual Fall Gala & Wine Tasting on Thursday, Nov. 4.
The Cathedral Center provides a safe environment for women and families while working to end homelessness. The Gala & Wine Tasting is its largest annual fundraiser.
Tikkun Ha-Ir — “Repair of the City” in Hebrew — seeks to encourage the Jewish community to build a more just Milwaukee through study, action and civic engagement. Baruch has been executive director THI since 2003. Previously, she was director of volunteers at Jewish Family Services.
The event will begin at 5 p.m., and will take place at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 810 N. Jackson St. Tickets are $50 each.
