Ida Thau

Ida Thau, nee Faich, of Mequon died July 22. She was 87.

She was born in Milwaukee, graduated from North Division High School, and was a homemaker. According to her family, “Ida was a humble and modest person. She was completely dedicated to her parents, and subsequently to her husband and family.”

Her daughter Esther (Eugene) Kleinberg of Mequon added that she was “a wonderful hostess, who had food cooking whatever time it was.” Esther added that at Eugene’s insistence, Thau stayed with them for the last four years of her life.

She was a member of Congregation Agudas Achim Chabad.

Her husband, Charles Thau, a Holocaust survivor, died in 1995.

Other survivors are sons Martin (Sandy) Thau of Bayside and Jeffrey (Rina) Thau of Dayton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The Jewish Community Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Rabbi Dovid Rapoport officiated at the funeral on July 23. Burial was in Agudas Achim Cemetery.

The family would appreciate memorial contributions to Congregation Agudas Achim Chabad.
