As of Aug. 1, Rabbi Wesley Kalmar is the new spiritual leader of Anshe Sfard Kehillat Torah, an Orthodox congregation in Glendale.
Originally from Baltimore, Kalmar is a graduate of Yeshiva University, where he was ordained and from which he also earned a master’s degree in medieval Jewish history.
He has served synagogues in New Jersey and Connecticut, and taught at a Jewish girls’ high school in New York.
A longer article about Rabbi Kalmar is planned for the September Chronicle.
