Native Milwaukeean Ruth Irene Peter (nee Dizack) died on Feb. 8 from pneumonia and the results of Alzheimer’s disease. She was 92.
Born in 1917, she attended Marquette University and later worked as a real estate agent for Crown Realty, a firm owned by her brothers.
She was a founding member of Congregation Shalom and was involved with the parent teacher association at her children’s schools.
Five years ago, she moved to Denver to be closer to her daughter, Lisa (Lynn) Taussig of Denver.
“She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend,” her daughter said.
She was predeceased by her husband, Manuel Peter, in 1998 and her son, Dr. Michael Peter, in 2007. She is survived by her daughter, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at Congregation Shalom. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Rabbi Joseph Prass officiated. Blane Goodman Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
