Yearning for Tel Aviv — Lori Pachefsky of Slinger won the Happy Birthday Tel Aviv@100 Photo Contest with this photo of “The Bronze Fonz.” Pachefsky won two round trip airline tickets to Israel for winning the contest, which was sponsored by the Israel Government Tourist Office-Midwest Region.
“I have wanted to go to Israel for a long time, but I couldn’t find the time; work and other things always seemed to get in the way,” she said of the award. “This July I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I underwent major surgery at the end of August and will have some follow-up treatment. Visiting Israel was something I was determined to do in my lifetime and decided that now was the time for me make this trip.”
