Native Milwaukeean Beatrice Goldman (Fairman) died on Oct. 1 as a result of complications of pneumonia. She was 95.
She graduated from North Division High School in 1932 and continued to study at Layton Art School. She worked as a designer for Boston Store and was interested in many other media within art —painting, drawing, sculpture and photography.
“She loved to create things and always had an art project in the works,” said her daughter Janice (Andrew) Silver of New York City.
She also loved animals, especially cats. She traveled extensively, including trips to Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. According to her family, she traveled to Las Vegas every year, sometimes two or three times a year, with her family.
A former member of Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue and Congregation Anshe Sfard, she was involved with the National Council of Jewish Women and the Jewish War Veterans.
“She was young at heart and always kept her appearance looking perfect,” her daughter said. “Everyone commented on how cute her hair always looked.”
Her husband Dr. Carl Goldman predeceased her in 1980. She is further survived by daughters Trudy Goldman of Chicago and Roberta Goldman of Union Grove, Wis.
Blane Goodman Funeral Service handled funeral arrangements. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Rabbi Steven Adams officiated.
The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Wisconsin Special Olympics, 5900 Monona Dr., Suite 301, Madison, WI 53716.
