Eighty-five year old Milwaukeean Martin Lewin died of heart failure on Aug. 25.
A Holocaust survivor, he was born in Germany and came to the United States in 1946. Twelve years later, he came to Milwaukee from New York.
He was self-employed as a scrap dealer and retired in 1983. He was a member of Congregation Shalom.
He is survived by his wife Lore Lewin of Milwaukee; daughter Sharon (Jack Edelstein) Lewin of Glendale; brother Jack (Eva) Lewin of New York; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Arnold Lewin.
Goodman Bensman Funeral Service arranged the funeral. Burial was in Second Home Cemetery. Rabbi Ronald M. Shapiro officiated.
The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Karen Edelstein Cultural Arts Fund at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center or to Congregation Shalom.
