Gigi Pomerantz, president and founder of YOUTHAITI, received the Making a Difference for Women Award from Soroptimist International of Milwaukee on April 1 for her work to improve the lives of women.
A local nurse, Pomerantz founded YOUTHAITI last year to support ecological development in Haiti, particularly by helping to build composting toilets and help reforest Haitian communities.
