Sadie L. Weiner

New York native Sadie L. Weiner died on March 1. She was 92.

Weiner lived most of her life in New York City. In 1995, she moved to Milwaukee to be closer to her niece, Naomi (Morton) Soifer of Bayside.

A life member of Hadassah, Weiner served as the president of a New York City chapter and the Milwaukee Chai Point chapter.

Weiner had “an independent spirit and a zest for life,” her family stated in a letter to The Chronicle. “She was outgoing, adventurous and loved theater, the arts and especially opera.”

Weiner is preceded in death by sisters Anna (William) Freed; Frances (Max) Fershtman; Sue (Reuben) Bromley and brother Irving Weiner.

Graveside services were held on March 5 in Pinelawn, N.Y. There will be a memorial service at Chai Point at a later date.
