Rosalind Markowitz

Rosalind Markowitz (nee Keene) died on Nov. 4. She was 81.
Born in Milwaukee, Markowitz graduated from North Division High School and attended Milwaukee State Teachers College for two years. She worked as a claims approver for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Milwaukee and was a member of Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue.
“Family was everything to her,” her daughters said.

Husband Max Markowitz preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by daughters Susan (Mark) Cohen of Bayside and Nancy Markowitz of Chevy Chase, Md.; brother Harold (Phyllis) Keene of Shorewood; and six grandchildren.

Rabbi Yitzchak Berman officiated at services at Goodman-Bensman Funeral Home on Nov. 7. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family appreciates memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, the National Kidney Foundation and Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue.
