Betty Lillian Shapiro (nee Goldman) died from lymphoma on Dec. 18. She was 87.
Shapiro was born in Leeds, England, and moved to Wisconsin shortly thereafter. She graduated from North Division High School and later worked as a bookkeeper/office worker for North American Van Lines and her late brother, attorney Jack Goldberg.
She was a member of Hadassah-Milwaukee Chapter and Temple Menorah.
Shapiro is further survived by husband William; sons Russell of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Michael (Luda) of Kohler, Wis.; daughter Sheryl (Douglas) Kalvin of Buffalo, Grove, Ill.; sisters Belle (Ben) Lane and Renee Goldman of Milwaukee; and four grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Jewish Community Funeral Home. Rabbi Shlomo Pontos officiated at graveside services at Second Home Cemetery on Dec. 20.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Home and Care Center and the American Cancer Society.
