Milton Gutglass

Milton F. Gutglass, M.D., died on June 17 in Palm Desert, Calif. He was 82.

A native and lifelong resident of Milwaukee (he maintained residences in Bayside and Palm Desert toward the end of his life), Gutglass graduated from Washington High School and earned Bachelor of Science and medical degrees from Marquette University. He worked at the Midwest Clinic of OB/GYN and delivered more than 10,000 babies in area hospitals during his career.

Gutglass was an active member of the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Haggerty Museum of Art, the Wisconsin Medical Society, the Medical College of Wisconsin Alumni Association and Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun.

He was an avid artist and enjoyed playing golf, according to his family.

Gutglass was preceded in death by his wife Paula Gutglass (nee Kaplan) in 2006. He is survived by sons James (Patti) Gutglass of Milwaukee and David (Sandra) Gutglass of San Diego; daughter Judith (Richard) Harris of St. Louis; sister Beverly Melnikov of Glendale and two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Blane Goodman Funeral Service, LLC. Graveside services were officiated by Rabbi Marc Berkson at Spring Hill Cemetery on June 22.
