In the May 9 Chronicle, Leon Cohen reported that Paula Simon, executive director of the Milwaukee Jewish Council for Community Relations, said in response to a cartoon that she identified as anti-Semitic, “Would that cartoon have appeared if not for the event?”
If only the synagogue had not been built in that neighborhood, the fascists would not have spray painted a swastika on it. If only the Jews had not lived in or near Germany, the German fascists would not have killed them. If only David Horowitz had not come to Milwaukee, the Muslim Students Association would not have printed an anti-Semitic cartoon.
The MSA at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee published and distributed an anti-Semitic cartoon against the invited Jewish speaker, and Simon blames the incident on the event’s organizers. Amazing.
