I want to share with Chronicle readers an experience I recently had at the Jewish Home and Care Center and Chai Point.
A family member unexpectedly needed surgery that required her to receive rehab care for nearly six weeks. She is currently a short-term rehab patient at the Jewish Home.
I thought I would have to spend Passover alone. However, friends, family, and staff members of Chai Point reached out to me and I was able to enjoy a wonderful seder.
I had always heard about the JHCC honoring our mothers and fathers and caring for older adults who need help; but until I needed them and experienced for myself the warmth and friendliness of the two facilities, I didn’t really understand.
I hope my sharing this experience will help to remind us all of the wonderful resources we have in our community for people to receive the care they need in a gracious, Jewish environment.
