Longtime Milwaukee resident Sarah “Seky” Ostach (nee Goldman) died on April 15. She was 99.
Born in Leeds, England, Ostach moved to Wisconsin with her family in 1915.

Among Ostach’s many interests were reading, mahjong, golf and working with ceramics. She also enjoyed baking and cooking, making mandel bread, chopped liver, blintzes, rhubarb pie, cheese pie and all holiday dishes.
“Mom was so strong, so unselfish, so smart, so considerate and also funny,” her family said in a statement. “She never expected and was grateful for what we were or what we did…What a beautiful woman we were so lucky to call mom and nana.”
