Longtime Milwaukeean Charlotte A. Zucker (nee Lefstein) died of cancer Sept. 5. She was 86.
Born in New York City, Zucker attended Brooklyn College and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, from which she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Zucker worked as a professional stage actress in New York, Madison and Milwaukee and later appeared in 16 movies. She also taught acting.
She was a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun and its Sisterhood, Hadassah-Milwaukee Chapter, Women’s American ORT and the National Council of Jewish Women. She also served on the board of trustees and as a docent at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Burton C. Zucker; daughter Susan (William) Breslau of Vernon, Conn.; sons David (Danielle) Zucker and Jerry (Janet) Zucker, both of Los Angeles; and six grandchildren.
Rabbi Marc Berkson officiated at funeral services at Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun on Sept. 7. Burial was in Second Home Cemetery.
