Former Milwaukeean Shari Lee Lasky (nee Zubatsky) died Feb. 17 in Orange, Calif., at the age of 68.
A graduate of Washington High School, she continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she received a teaching degree in fine arts.
She settled in Orange some 45 years ago and worked as an art teacher. An artist, she painted oils and watercolors, did crafts and created needlepoint designs that were sold in many local shops. She especially enjoyed teaching art to her grandchildren.
She belonged to Congregation Beth Shalom in Orange and its Sisterhood and sang in its choir. Also, she was a member of Hadassah and Women’s American ORT and volunteered at an area crisis center.
She is survived by her husband, William Lasky; daughter Debi (Jeff) Fisher of San Diego; son Michael Lasky of Los Angeles; mother Sarah Zubatsky of Bettendorf, Iowa; sister JoAnn Geifman of Bettendorf; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial were held Feb. 19 in California.
