Samuella “Sammie” Rotter (nee Rabenowich) of Mequon died of lung cancer on April 11. She was 79.
Born in Park Falls, she graduated from Park Falls High School and Milwaukee-Downer College, earning a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
A homemaker, she belonged to Congregation Shalom. According to her son, Bill (Elana) Rotter of Mequon, she most enjoyed traveling and her strong family ties and friends. She also enjoyed needlepoint, knitting and mah jong, he said.
Her husband, Marshall Rotter, died in 1987. In addition to Bill Rotter, she is survived by son David (Susan) Rotter of Bayside and daughter Sally (Arnie) Fishman of Northbrook, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at the funeral on April 14. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
