Retired Sheboygan merchant Sam Wasserman died Feb. 23 of heart failure. He was 96.
He was born in Sheboygan, where he graduated from Sheboygan High School in 1922 and from Sheboygan Business College in 1924. He and his wife, Sarah Wasserman (nee Schuman), moved to Glendale in 1999 and joined Temple Menorah.
He is survived by his wife; daughter Karen (Seymour) Teitelbaum of Northbrook, Ill.; son Dr. Allan (Bonnie) Wasserman of Mequon; brothers Simon (Ruth) Wasserman of Fox Point and Dr. Max (Miriam) Wasserman of Tarzana, Calif.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 27 with Rabbi Isaac Lerer officiating. Burial was at Sheboygan Hebrew Cemetery.
Memorials to Temple Menorah or Temple Beth El in Sheboygan were suggested by the family.
