Sally Hiken Baratz (nee Tarachow) of Shorewood died Oct. 10 at the age of 97.
Born in Russia, she attended Beth-El Ner Tamid synagogue and was active in many organizations, particularly Hadassah and Hakodimo.
She was preceded in death by husbands Mayer Hiken (1951) and Dr. J. J. Baratz (1963). She is survived by daughters Donna (Charles) Luber of Fox Point and Joanne (Warren) Bender of White Plains, N.Y.; step-children Sheila (Dr. William) Tenenblatt of Lake Worth, Fla., and Dr. Robert (Joan) Baratz of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and 13 step great-grandchildren.
Rabbi Gideon Goldenholz officiated at funeral services at Anshai Lebowitz Cemetery on Oct. 12.
