Milwaukee native Ruth Zeiger (nee Miller) died in Overland Park, Kan., Feb. 1. She was 82.
She graduated from West Division High School and attended the Wisconsin State Teacher’s College, now the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
She and her husband, Nathan Zeiger, who died last year, owned and operated President Jewelers in Joliet, Ill., for many years. In addition, she was a member of Hadassah, and of Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Waterloo, Iowa, serving as a president of its Sisterhood. In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering and baking.
She is survived by daughters Vicki Mooney of Overland Park and Jeanne Zeiger Krutewich of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; brother Sam Miller of Lincolnwood, Ill; sisters-in-law Fay Colberg, Francine and Jeanette Miller, and Doris and Selma Zeiger; and five grandchildren.
Cantor Roger Weisberg of Long Grove, Ill., officiated at graveside services on Feb. 4 at Mound Zion Cemetery.
