Raymond J. Schwade

Former Milwaukeean Raymond J. Schwade died March 2 in Dallas, Texas, of a heart attack. He was 84.

He was born in Milwaukee and graduated from Roosevelt High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific theater. He worked in the insurance business as a salesman in Milwaukee and as an executive in Dallas after he moved there in his thirties.

According to his brother, Lawrence Schwade of Milwaukee, he was active in the Jewish community in Dallas, at one point serving as president of his synagogue men’s club.
His special interests included travel, golf, photography and “navigating his computer,” his brother said.

In addition to his brother, he is survived by his wife, Ruth (nee Robinson); daughter Karen Reichek of Houston; son Dr. Jack (Goldie) Schwade of Dallas; sister-in-law Esther Schwade of Milwaukee; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services and burial took place in Dallas on March 3.
