Former Milwaukeean Philip J. Galvin of Boynton Beach, Fla., died of cancer Dec. 4. He was 83.
A graduate of Chicago’s Manley High School in 1938 and Illinois School of Optometry in 1945, he came to Milwaukee at the age of 26. He worked as an optometrist in his own business in Bayshore Mall until he retired.
He was a member of Congregation Emanuel B’ne Jeshurun; and also of Brynwood Country Club for 34 years. His special interests included golf, tennis and cards, according to his family.
Preceded in death by sons Mitchell and Charles Galvin, he is survived by wife Terrie Galvin and daughter Linda Kersting of Boynton Beach, Fla.
