Paula Sylvia Gutglass

Longtime Milwaukeean Paula Sylvia Gutglass, nee Kaplan, of Bayside died March 6 of a stroke. She was 81.

Born in New York City, she came to Milwaukee from Michigan at the age of 10 and graduated from Shorewood High School in 1942. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1943 to 1945.

She was a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun and its Sisterhood, the Milwaukee Art Museum and Hadassah. She was especially interested in art and antiques, her family said.

She is survived by husband Milton Gutglass, M.D.; daughter Judy (Richard) Harris of St. Louis; sons James (Patti) Gutglass of Milwaukee and David Gutglass of San Diego; and two grandchildren.

Rabbi Marc Berkson officiated at graveside services March 8. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
