Former Whitefish Bay resident Norman Weinshel died Nov. 13 at this home in Chicago. He was 86.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and its law school, he was president of E. Weinshel & Bro. Perfect Fit Trousers, a firm founded by his father and uncle.
Until his retirement three years ago, he lived in Milwaukee and was a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun.
He served as an officer in the U.S. Army through the entire World War II Pacific campaign and met his future wife while in Australia.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Betty Weinshel (nee Muir); daughters Margot (Robert) Bazel and Wendy Dragonfire; son Steven (Mary) Weinshel; sister-in-law Ruth (the late Dr. Leo) Weinshel; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service was held in Chicago on Nov. 16.
Contributions to Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue, which his late father, Edward Weinshel, helped found, would be appreciated by the family.
