Never too old for love

With a total of more than 300 years of marriage between them, six couples reaffirmed their vows at a traditional Jewish wedding on Friday, Sept. 5, at the Weinberg Jewish Terrace, which includes Chai Point Senior Living Apartment Complex and the Jewish Home and Care Center. Designed to celebrate marriage and honor the memories of loved ones, the event acknowledged that “The one thing that outlives everything is love,” according to Rabbi Steven Adams, Judaic enrichment specialist, who, with cantorial soloist Arlene Spanier, officiated at the ceremony. Participating couples were Rosalie and Sol Gelman, Betty and William Shapiro, Harriet and Alexander Magar, Sally and Phillip Azkotsky, Dorothy and David Glazer, and Paul and Barbara Weprinsky. After the procession and ceremony, couples and guests ate wedding cake and drank champagne. Photos by Elana Kahn-Oren.
