Myrtle Rapaport

Funeral services were held Dec. 27 for native Milwaukeean and Glendale resident Myrtle Rapaport. She died on Dec. 24 of natural causes at age 88.

“Her husband, her home and her family were the most important things in her life,” according to her family. “She was kind to everyone and liked by all who knew her.”

After the death of her husband of 52 years, Solomon Rapaport, in 1988, she lived an active life, driving her car to and from mahjong games, social events and shopping trips. She lived at Manchester Village and most recently at Laurel Oaks Retirement Home.

She was a member of Temple Menorah, Hadassah and B’nai B’rith.

She is survived by daughter Arlene (Stanley) Wasserman of Glendale; son Ronald Rapaport of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister Lil Riskin; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Rabbi Ronald M. Shapiro officiated at the Dec. 27 funeral. Burial was at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to Congregation Shalom would be appreciated by the family.
