Maxine Tishberg

Maxine Tishberg of Mequon and Weston, Fla., died Oct. 2 of cancer. She was 77.
She was born Maxine Bootzin in Medford and moved to Milwaukee from there in 1945. She attended the National College of Education in Evanston, Ill., but did not graduate. She married her first husband, Alvin Stein, in 1946; he died in 1984.

She was a member of Congregation Shalom and was active in the UJA of Greater Fort Lauderdale. She liked to play golf and mahjong and to shop.

She is survived by her second husband, Daniel Tishberg; daughter Debra (David) Silberman of Bayside and son Sanford (Cheryl) Stein of Minnetonka, Minn.; brother Ivan (Marjean) Bootzin of Medford; four grandchildren; three step-children and eight step-grandchildren.

Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at the funeral on Oct. 4. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
