Marvin Zelonky

Milwaukee native Marvin Zelonky, of Buffalo Grove, Ill., died April 15 at the age of 77. The cause of death was kidney and heart failure.

A 1946 graduate of Washington High School, he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

His special interests included performing folk songs, golf and travel, and he was a member of the choir of Illinois Congregation B’nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim for 25 years, his family said.

Preceded in death by brother Philip Zelonky, he is survived by his wife, Susan (nee Brill) Zelonky; daughters Deborah (Mark) Seewald of Pittsburgh and Linda (Jim) Wiskerchen of Tempe, Ariz.; son Robb Zelonky of Memphis, Tenn.; stepdaughter Michelle (Andrew) Frampton of Chicago; stepson David Rattner of Chicago; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Rabbi Karyn Kedar officiated at funeral services April 17. Burial was in Shalom Memorial Park, Chicago.
