Graveside services were held July 3 for Mae Adell Brickman (nee Bogost). A resident of Chai Point, she died July 2 at the age of 95.
She was born in Cherkaska, Ukraine, and came to Milwaukee in 1913. She graduated from North Division High School and was a sales associate at Lou Fritzel Women’s Ready to Wear for 35 years. “Her candor and sense of humor made her a favorite with her customers,” said her son Mark (Cheryl) Brickman of Milwaukee.
A member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, she belonged to Hadassah and NA’AMAT USA. She also was a volunteer at Sinai Samaritan Medical Center and the Jewish Home and Care Center.
In addition to her son, she is survived by daughter Nena (Thomas) Dyhr of Madison; sister-in-law Rose Bogost; daughter-in-law Connie Brickman of Milwaukee; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Her husband, Norman Brickman, died in 1947.
Memorials to the Jewish Home and Care Center, Hadassah or Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun would be appreciated by the family.
