Lorraine P. Armour (nee Hersch) of Fox Point died on March 10 at age 85.
She was born in Madison and earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in education from Smith College. As a young woman, she was director of the Edith Babbitz Nursery School in Milwaukee.
According to her family, “She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, dedication to the arts and passion for organic gardening.”
Her husband, Irving, died in 2003. She is survived by daughters Susan (Michael Seidman) Armour Seidman, Elaine (Daniel Tiffany) Armour and Julie (Paul Matzner) Armour; and four grandchildren.
Rabbis Marc Berkson and David Brusin officiated at the funeral on March 12. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Milwaukee Jewish Day School or Congregation Shir Hadash would be appreciated by the family.
