Lorraine Fishbein

Waukesha native and long-time Milwaukee resident Lorraine Fishbein died of emphysema May 28, at the age of 80.

A 1944 graduate of Waukesha High School, she attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She moved to Milwaukee in 1948 where she worked as a secretary for various Milwaukee-area companies.

She was a member of Congregation Beth El Ner Tamid, the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary and the Wisconsin Coast Guard Auxiliary.

She enjoyed mahjong and knitting as long as her eyesight allowed it. Then, she loved to listen to books on tape, her family said.

She was preceded in death by husband Eldred J. Fishbein in 2004.

She is survived by daughters Ilene (Jeff) Wasserman and Bobbi Fishbein, both of Milwaukee, and one grandchild.

Rabbi Gideon Goldenholz officiated at funeral services May 31 at Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue. Burial was in Mound Zion Cemetery.

The family would appreciate contributions to Ruth Hospice or Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue.
