Lillian Allschwang

Long-time Milwaukeean Lillian Allschwang (nee Berg) died March 23 of complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She was 82.

She was born in Baltimore and attended high school in St. Paul, Minn. She came to Milwaukee in 1939, which also was the year she married Kenneth Allschwang. He died in 1998.

She belonged to Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun. According to her family, she was primarily interested in her family and was “a fabulous knitter, a great cook and a real lady.”

She is survived by daughters Shari (Dr. Allan) Luck of Fox Point and Diane Borkon of Cedarburg; sister Esther (Dr. Rube) Paler of Glendale; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Rabbi Francis Barry Silberg officiated at the funeral on March 25. Burial was in Second Home Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Wisconsin.
