Whitefish Bay resident Lester Daniel Goldschmidt died on Oct. 16 at the age of 94.
Born in New York City, Goldschmidt attended City College of New York. He moved to Milwaukee in 1942.
He worked as a merchandise manager at Gimbels Department Store for 33 years before becoming a stockbroker with A.G. Edwards, where he worked for 17 years.
He was a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun.
According to his family, Goldschmidt loved to travel, whether for business or for family vacations. He also enjoyed photography and spending time with his four grandchildren, the family said.
He is survived by wife Margo Goldschmidt (nee Bachenheimer); son Dr. Ronald (Cathy) Goldschmidt, of San Francisco; daughter Linda (Sanford) Ehrenreich, of Pittsburgh; brother Fillmore (Friedl) Goldschmidt, of Milwaukee; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 19 at Suminski/Weiss Funeral Home in Milwaukee. Rabbi Marc E. Berkson officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
